RECYCLING INITIATIVE
REDUCING REED WASTE ONE STAPLE AT A TIME
Did you know that the cork staple of your oboe reeds can be reused to create more than one reed? Camber Flick Oboe is now opening a recycling initiative. You can now mail us your lightly used oboe staples and in return you can get store credit for use on oboe reeds or reed supplies. The amount of your credit is determined by the number and condition of the staples returned to us. There are a few stipulations:

The cork has to remain intact and cannot be torn, ripped, or brittle.
The metal opening of the staple needs to be in the shape of an oval and cannot be pinched, dented, or jagged.
The cane and thread must not be attached to the cork staple. You can easily cut them off with a razor blade.
You need to donate at least 10 staples to receive a store credit.

GIVE YOUR OLD REEDMAKING TOOLS AND CASES A NEW HOME
Are you in the process of decluttering your reed desk?
Do you find reed tools that you never use, but do not want to throw away?
Do you have reed cases that need refurbishing?
Consider donating your used reed making tools and cases to Camber Flick Oboe. In July of 2022 Camber received her first donation box containing reed cases, staples, mandrels, knives, and sharpening stones that were in need of cleaning and small repairs. Camber was able to refurbish 75% of the reed cases and cleaned up all the other reed supplies to be sold on her website at a discounted rate to students and young professionals that may not have been able to afford these tools at full price. Send Camber a message at the link below for more details.
